Privacy Policy
1. Introduction
Kurono Computing (“we,” “us,” or “our”) respects your privacy in the application “NutriCompare” (栄養価比較; the “App”) and this website (including https://nutri-compare-lp.pages.dev; the “Site”), and handles information we obtain as described below.
2. Information we may collect
We may collect the following. Some items may not be collected depending on features or platform.
- Device and app info: OS type/version, device model, app version, etc. (e.g. prefill on support forms)
- Usage: Firebase Analytics events (food add source type, base changes, sort, bookmark save/restore, settings open, AI success/failure, etc.). We do not send raw profile values such as height or weight.
- Crash and diagnostics: Firebase Crashlytics (mainly mobile). Designed not to include personally identifying information.
- Ads: Google AdMob delivery and measurement, and App Tracking Transparency authorization status on iOS (when allowed)
- AI estimation/breakdown data: food or dish names you enter for nutrient estimation or dish breakdown, and estimated nutrition returned by the service. Manually entered body profiles and bookmark contents are not sent to the cloud.
- Auth: Firebase Authentication anonymous sign-in (no product account registration UI)
- Remote config: client fetch of feature flags, minimum version, etc. via Firebase Remote Config
3. Purposes of use
- Providing, maintaining, improving, and troubleshooting the App and Site
- Ad delivery and measurement (where applicable)
- Running AI nutrient estimation and dish breakdown
- Responding to support requests
- Preventing abuse and securing the service
- Complying with law
4. Third parties and external services
We use the following external services as needed to achieve the purposes above. Please also review each service’s privacy policy.
Except where required by law or necessary to protect life, body, or property, we do not sell or provide personal information to third parties without your consent.
- Google Firebase (Core, Analytics, Crashlytics, Remote Config, Authentication, AI Logic, App Check, etc.). AI Logic is used for cloud nutrient estimation and dish breakdown.
- Google AdMob (mobile ads)
- Hosting: Cloudflare Pages (delivery of this Site)
5. Local storage
Comparison drafts, bookmarks, body/activity profile, and display settings are stored in a local database on the device and are not cloud-synced. They may be lost if the device is reset or the app is uninstalled.
6. Retention
Local data remains on the device until you delete it or uninstall the app. Data on external services is retained according to each service’s policy and our operations for as long as needed for the purpose, then deleted or anonymized.
7. Security
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to prevent leakage, loss, or damage of information we handle.
8. Children’s privacy
The App is for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. Parents concerned about a child’s use may contact us.
9. Data sources and disclaimers
Data cited from the Standard Tables of Food Composition in Japan (Eighth Revised Edition), updated 27 March 2026 (Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology of Japan).
Daily nutrient guides are reference values based on the Dietary Reference Intakes for Japanese (2025) by the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare of Japan. They are not a substitute for medical advice or treatment.
10. Your rights
Under applicable law you may request disclosure, correction, or deletion of retained personal data. Contact us below. On-device data can be managed via in-app delete actions or by uninstalling the app.
